Creator codes for Roblox games
Nexus is a creator code platform for Roblox developers.
Players enter a creator's code in your game, your server reports each Robux purchase, and Nexus pays the creator the share you set. You only pay on sales creators bring in.
One HTTP call from your server.
Nexus handles creator signups, dashboards and payouts.
What is a creator code in a Roblox game?
A creator code is a short code a YouTuber or streamer shares with their audience. A player enters it once, and every Robux purchase they make after that earns the creator a share you choose.
Players already type codes into Roblox games for rewards. It's the same box, but it pays the people making content about your game.
Code applied.
This player's purchases now count toward the creator.
How do creator codes work in Roblox?
Only steps 2 and 3 touch your game.
A creator joins
Creators apply on your branded signup page and get a code.
A player enters the code
Your server validates it with the Nexus API and saves it in a DataStore.
The player buys something
After granting the product, your server reports the Robux amount to Nexus.
Nexus pays the creator
You get one monthly invoice. Nexus pays each creator and handles tax forms.
Why do Roblox developers run creator codes?
Turn free players into buyers
In one partner's game, 40% of players who used a creator code had never bought anything before. Fans buy to support the creator, and you get the sale.
Stop paying flat fees for videos
A sponsored video costs the same whether it works or not. With a code, creators earn only when viewers buy, and you see which creators move Robux.
Keep creators making content
A code that pays monthly keeps your game in their upload schedule, and their viewers keep coming back to play.
How do you add creator codes to a Roblox game?
Enable HTTP requests, store the player's code in a DataStore, and send one request from ProcessReceipt. Only your text box runs on the client.
-- Server: when a player submits a code
local PUBLIC_KEY = "nexus_pk_your_key_here" -- ServerScriptService
local path = "/manage/members/" .. HttpService:UrlEncode(code)
local ok, res = pcall(HttpService.RequestAsync, HttpService, {
Url = "https://api.nexus.gg/v1" .. path,
Method = "GET",
Headers = { ["X-SHARED-SECRET"] = PUBLIC_KEY },
})
if ok and res.Success then
CreatorCodes.set(player.UserId, code) -- your DataStore wrapper
end-- Server: after you grant a Developer Product
local SECRET_KEY = "nexus_sk_your_key_here" -- ServerScriptService
local code = CreatorCodes.get(playerId)
if not code then return end
HttpService:RequestAsync({
Url = "https://api.nexus.gg/v1/attributions/transactions",
Method = "POST",
Headers = {
["Content-Type"] = "application/json",
["X-SHARED-SECRET"] = SECRET_KEY,
},
Body = HttpService:JSONEncode({
code = code,
transactionId = purchaseId,
subtotal = robux,
currency = "RBX",
description = tostring(productId),
playerId = tostring(playerId),
transactionDate = DateTime.now():ToIsoDate(),
}),
})
-- 409 = already reported. Wire this from ProcessReceipt in the guide.-- Server: Game Passes use the same report
MarketplaceService.PromptGamePassPurchaseFinished
:Connect(function(player, passId, purchased)
if not purchased then return end
reportSale(
player.UserId,
HttpService:GenerateGUID(false),
passId,
PASS_PRICES[passId] -- your price table
)
end)Full example and API reference: Roblox Studio integration guide.
Plain REST API
Works with HttpService out of the box. Already have a game backend? Send the request from there instead.
Your UI, your rules
Put the code box in settings, show it on first join, or lock it in for good. Game Passes report the same way through PromptGamePassPurchaseFinished.
A Nexus engineer on call
We scope it with you and answer questions as you build. Most teams see a test sale in the dashboard the same day.
What does Nexus handle for you?
The HTTP call is the easy part. Nexus runs the rest of the program.
Creator signup page
A branded page where creators apply with their YouTube, Twitch or TikTok. Auto-approve by subscribers or views.
Set your own percentages
Set shares by product, creator tier or event in the dashboard. No game update needed.
Payouts and tax forms
Nexus collects W-9s and W-8BENs and pays creators in their own currency. You pay one invoice.
Creators under 18
Many Roblox creators are. Our k-ID integration lets them join legally, under age rules you set.
Dashboards for both sides
You see sales per creator. Creators see their own earnings, so they're not DMing you for numbers.
Live stream alerts
When a viewer uses a code mid-stream, the creator gets an on-screen alert. Free hype for your game.

What other game developers say
“Just wanted to thank you for such an easy-to-use API. I've just integrated it into our backend service which BTD6 and Battles 2 both use. Took less than 2 hours to get a test transaction showing up in the dashboard.”
“Thank you Nexus! We have been wanting to implement a system like this for ages but the overhead of doing it ourselves stopped us every time. Now it just works!”
“Implementing the Creator Platform in our game was as easy as 1,2,3. Within hours and with just a few requests we had it all working, and with the great feedback from their team we're set up for success!”
“Ninja Kiwi doesn't think that paid sponsorships [are] good for the game-Creator-viewer/player ecosystem, but we think that Nexus.gg and Creator codes can be.”
As of October 2026, Nexus runs creator codes for Bloons TD 6, Marvel Contest of Champions, Dead by Daylight, Sonic Rumble, Angry Birds 2, SMITE, and more.
Questions Roblox developers ask
How much does Nexus cost?
No upfront cost. You pay creators the share you set on sales they bring in, plus a Nexus platform fee on those sales. Request a demo for rates.
Does it work with Developer Products and Game Passes?
Yes. Report Developer Products from ProcessReceipt and Game Passes from PromptGamePassPurchaseFinished, using the same request.
Are creators paid in Robux?
No. You report sales in Robux. Nexus pays creators in real money, in their own currency, and sends you one monthly invoice.
What player data does Nexus receive?
Only what attribution needs: creator code, purchase ID, Robux amount, product, time and a stable player ID. No names, emails or chat.
Does anything run on the client?
Only your code entry box. Validation and reporting run in ServerScriptService, so your API keys stay on the server.
Can creators under 18 join?
Yes. Through k-ID, younger creators join with the consent their region requires, under age rules you set.
Can I change revenue shares without updating my game?
Yes. Set shares per creator, product or event in the Nexus dashboard. Your game only reports the sale.
