2023: Our Year in Review - Highlights & Milestones

2023 has been a year for the books! From kicking off the year with a fundraising round led by Griffin Gaming Partners and Sony Innovation Fund to closing it out with several new Support-a-Creator programs launched, the Nexus team is excited to reflect on the past 365 days.

Here are our top highlights and milestones:

Product Updates

We are excited to report that devs can now build their Support-a-Creator program a whole lot faster. We’ve built Unreal and Unity SDKs making implementation a breeze. Between UI and UX, devs can integrate creator codes within days, not weeks.

Managing a creator program is also easier due to the introduction of new and expanded features including a notification system, improved data visualization/exports, new payout methods, account roles, and publishers can now customize creator revenue share to better fit their monetization strategy

Creator Success

Speaking of creator revenue, we paid out 79% more to creators this year than last. Seeing creators grow their businesses and thrive in Nexus-powered creator programs is what drives us!

Nexus helped creators earn an average of 32% more this year than they did in 2022. Additionally, we paid out 31% more creators in 2023. This is due in part to launching new programs but it is also because more players are choosing to support their favorite creators.

In terms of overall sales, top-performing creators include Tewtiy, CohhCarnage, Sabre, SJB, Weak3n, ISAB, Boltrix, Incon, and SamDaDude.

Player Behavior

And now for some exciting player behavior metrics that speak to the power of creator programs:

  • Content creators drive conversion (free to paid). Upon introducing a Support-a-Creator program, one publisher shared that 40.9% of players who used a creator code had never made a purchase before.

  • Content creators drive re-engagement. In the studied cohort, 14.8% of players had stopped spending and their first purchase back was in support of a content creator.

  • Content creators drive increased spending. Another partner saw that creator code users spent 185% more than the game’s average paid player.

These studies and several others continue to affirm our belief in the power of content creators and the positive impact they have on the performance of games.

A huge thank you goes out to each of our publisher, developer, and content creator partners. You’re a huge part of our success and we look forward to growing with you in 2024!
