Nexus Integrates k-ID to Support Safer, Compliant Creator Programs

Nexus has integrated k-ID into our platform to help our publisher partners comply with global privacy and safety regulations and ensure creators of all ages can join Support-a-Creator programs safely and legally.

k-ID empowers kids and teens to explore, play, and learn online in trusted, age-appropriate spaces. Their technology helps platforms like ours provide compliant digital experiences while meeting the latest international compliance standards.

We chose to integrate k-ID for two key reasons. First, we want to help our publisher partners meet evolving global privacy and safety requirements. Second, we want to ensure that creators—especially minors—can legally receive earnings, with proper consent from a parent or guardian when necessary.

Now, during the creator application process, applicants will be asked to enter their date of birth. If they meet the relevant age requirement based on their location, they’ll move forward in the application process. If they do not meet that age requirement, they’ll be prompted to request parental consent through k-ID.

At that point, a parent or guardian can enter their email address or scan a QR code. They’ll then receive a message from k-ID, asking them to verify their identity, learn more about Nexus, and decide whether to grant permission for their child to participate.
